Freeze client in Multiplayer by clicking and dragging client window
Note: this issue has been replicated in versions 1.9, 1.10 and 1.11.
When playing Minecraft online (and potentially offline), you can 'freeze' your character by clicking the client window and dragging it around.
In a Multiplayer environment, this can be abused to do things like: reduce damage taken, or avoid falling. This is extremely game-breaking.
From a technical standpoint, it seems the client stops sending or receiving packets when using this bug.
Steps to Replicate:
1) Put your client into Windowed mode
2) Raise your character up very high in the air (flying), then make yourself fall
3) Whilst falling, ESC or Tab out, move your cursor to the top of the Minecraft client window, and click-to-drag it
4) Holding left mouse, drag the window around. Whilst dragging, your character will be 'frozen' in the air
5) Release left-mouse and your character will 'resume', and continue to drop from where they were 'frozen'
