Items are hard to move in inventory

I have compared version 1.10.2 and 16w44a.

In 1.10.2 I have no issues when trying to move items or dragging a stack of items across any interface.

In 16w44a when pickung up an item with my cursor in any inventory, I then have difficulties placing it again. It stays on the cursor even though I have clicked already. I have the feeling like you either have to give a very short click to position the item or hold left click longer than usual to place it.
It's very weird.
This issue is very annoying especially in survival.
