Nether portal faces wrong way when using /setblock

When using /setblock , nether portal faces wrong way

What I expected to happen was...:
Nether portal would face the sky as normal blocks would

What actually happened was...:
Faces the block next to it.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. /setblock [x] [y] [z] portal
