Minecraft 1.9.4

When I log on to minecraft and I go on a server. The chat isn't there.
I'm not in F1 mode, Chat IS enabled and everytime when I type something it doesn't show up on the chat. The chat is either invisible or i don't know but I restarted my mc, reinstalled it and restarted my computer but it still doesn't show up so please I need help. It won't work on my new pc like the chat won't show on the mc I have on my other computer (Windows 7).
So can u help me figure this out or tell me how to fix it. Thank u
