Cactus hunger depletion

If you use /effect 1 (speed) 10000 4 /effect 10 (regen) 10000 4 /effect 3 (haste) 10000 4 and /effect 8 (jump boost) 10000 4 and stand on a cactus in survival your hunger will go down very fast about every 5 times you take damage it goes down 1/2 hunger point. Not wearing armor when doing this, just the /effects. I didn't have hunger effect potions on me and relogging didn't fix it.
I did this on my vanilla server and in vanilla single player it works in both
