Milk Does Not Null Potion Effects

I had signed onto a world with the snapshot. Apparently, I had a potion of night vision on (creative world), so I drank a bucket of milk to take it off. it didn't come off. I did it a few more times after that, but it still didn't work. I just went on with the potion after that.
