Endermen over griefing a single chunk area.

I noticed one of my buildings was missing a few stair blocks (roof). When I went to repair, what I assume is Endermen, damage; I found a lot of my building was missing.

I can not reproduce. I was at this building the 24 hours prior. Today I logged on my own world and noticed the problem. Could it have been cats Vs Creepers?
