my minecraft skins wont show up and my update notes on the main menu wont show up either

this started happening a few days ago where on the main menu where you can select what version you want to play in the update notes wont come up anymore and its just a white screen. also when i go into any server online or into single player i cant see my skin or anyone else's skin and it just looks like steve or alex. i've tried deleting it and reinstalling it but nothing is working please help.
