Animal spawning glitch

SO i found an awesome seed. Its an island! And i have noticed something. Every time i return from mining or far away from the island or the island's surface there are usually many new animals for example horses and this hasn't happened before and minecraft wiki says animals spawn only once per chunk. So i think its a glitch and a very annoying one
