Day - Night Cycle stuck at Sunset

Whenever I start up a new world, for whatever reason, the time sets itself to just after sunset, when I try to set the time, it immediately jumps back to this time again, if I just wait for time to move forward, the game pushes the time back to this time again, can you help me out? I don't like building in darkness, or with the night vision potion.
