Elytra corner death launch

What I expected to happen was...:
fly right past the corner

What actually happened was...:
get stuck on corner and continue flying without moving, remove elytra to stop flying, get launched and die

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Jump from a height with elytra
2. activate elytra
3. Fly close to a corner
4. get stuck in block
5. remove elytra
6. be launched and die
