Sleeping in a bed close to the nether portal in overworld and in a tower.

I was making a tower of blocks to get to a higher place and a made a 3x3 area and put my bed to sleep, after i clicked i wasn't able to pause and leave the bed, same think when i tried to sleep close to the nether portal in overworld
