Fireworks placed in blocks like glass panes go through a single block

I was running around a town with fireworks, put one in a glass pane of a house. I noticed the explosion wasn't where it was. After testing, I noticed it was going through the block above it. I tested, and you can send Firework Rockets into a structure with a one-thick floor by using glass panes, iron bars, etc. I've also managed to reproduce this with tracks, but that's less consistent.
