Minecraft random texture glitch

What I expected to happen was while I was making a skyblock map I was trying to use /setblock to make an island.

What actually happened was whenever I used /setblock (I also was using World Edit) to make an island and whenever I made a 3x3x3 square the textures would glitch out (like in the picture below).

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Use /setblock (or World Edit) to put down a block.
2) Make a big block/cube (in a void world).
3) The glitch will happen (this is very rare and is like the texture glitch with your chunks being over 10 chunks).
