Color redering issue

So I updated my server from 1.9 to 1.10.2, and I was using colored signs around the spawn. However, when I updated the server, all the signs facing NORTH or SOUTH, have faded the color. For example, the white color turned gray and I can barely read it! This happened to all the colors. How can we fix this?
