Slime sounds when breaking blocks

Many of the blocks that are normally broken with a pickaxe in my Survival world sound like a repeating sound of slime blocks when in the process of trying to break the block. Although most of the blocks are usually dropped when using a pickaxe, they will still make the same noise using any other tool, or my player's hand.
