minecraft won't launch

What I expected to happen was...:
minecraft would launch
What actually happened was...:
minecraft displayed the mojang logo for a millisecond then crashed
Steps to Reproduce:
1. get my new computer
2. install java
3. try to open multiple versions of minecraft and find out it won't work
