very low FPS in minecraft version 1.9 or higher

Hi,

somehow, ever since 1.9 release, my minecraft has had extremely low FPS with lowest graphics on. I used to get 240 odd FPS with these settings, but now I get like 2. I have tried updating my java, but that doesn't work.

my specs are:

intel core I5 @ 2.2 Ghz quad core.

1600 Mhz 8 GB DDR3 RAM

1TB HDD

Intel HD graphics 5500

x64 system windows 10 home
