Farmland and other blocks lock you in place

Certain blocks in Minecraft recreate this glitch and I have no clue why, it might just be me. Farmland especially does this when you break a tilled dirt block by jumping on it directly in the center of it you will be in a state of constant falling and you can't get out until you re-till(ed?) the farmland.

Its really annoying since when I'm playing on a server sometimes the farmland isn't even broken and I'll get locked in place because of it and I have to re-connect.
