pocket edition is incompatible with kids device

Purchased mincraft in 2013 on Kindle. As of yesterday would not uodate. Attempted to remove from device and re download now stating that it is incompatible with device. The app still shows up in the cloud but will not instal. Using a 1st generation kindle fire. Unsure if I selected the correct version sorry if I did not.
