Minecraft sound not working 1.10

My mine craft sound hasn't been working for some time now and I've been doing everything I can. I've deleted and reinstalled it several times, I've reloaded and changed to 1.9, 1.8 and back again, nothing has worked. The log files say the sound doesn't work either. How can I fix this ?!
