Anvil makes items invisible after burning them.

I wanted to burn items that were lying on top of an anvil. So i grabbed a flint and steel, started to press the shift-button opn my keyboard (in order to not access the anvil HUD). After the disappeared I went closer to the anvil and i got the items back which had a "burning texture" around them while i picked them up.

What i expected to happen was:
That the items will get burned

What actually happened was:
Getting them back because they were just invisible.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Grab an anvil, any kind of item and a flint and steel
2.throw the item on top of the anvil, hold shift and try to ignite the items
3.After they disappear, pick them up because they're just invisible
