launches fine crashes once you join a server

What I expected to happen was...:
To be able to play minecraft online, on a multiplayer server

What actually happened was...:
minecraft crashed after i was loaded into the server

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Log on
2. Click Multiplayer
3. Click on Server to join
4. Crash
