Multiplayer server crash

When I go to multiplayer and click on a server it will start to login but will eventually turn the Minecraft screen white and crash. This immediately started happening when I updated to 1.10.1. I've tried to get into many different servers and nothing works. I even tried deleting Minecraft and reinstalling it but it still keeps crashing.
