Rains all the time help!

it rains every 3 minutes and it is driving me insane. I have had Minecraft since Beta and now have it on a PC, iMac, iPad and on every version I timed it. EVERY 3 MINUTES! I thought this was normal and annoying until I purchased the game for my daughter. Her game it rains maybe once an hour or less! So why is mine every 3 minutes! Thank god for the /weather clear feature or I would never play Minecraft again.

How can I fix this???
