Compass points to new location in 1.10

I started a world in 1.9.something, and built my main base at the world spawn. I use the compass to easily return home; it pointed to right by my storage chests.

Last night, I updated to 1.10 and, after getting lost, dutifully followed my compass ... but I ended up quite a ways away from my base.

It appears the compass points to a new location in 1.10? The new location is a significant distance away from the old one (it seems over a hundred blocks away, but I don't have the coordinates in front of me).
