Crashes on 1.10pre1, not 1.9.4

Game lags out or crashes when trying to play in 1.10pre1, but will play same world fine on 1.9.4. Happening on this computer, but not my others, and this computer has never had an issue. However, this is a "work" computer on enterprise, enhanced security, pushed patches, etc.

Getting here:
I uninstalled/reinstalled/redownloaded minecraft
I tried old worlds, worlds generated with 1.9.4, and generated with 1.10pre1

What happens:
Launch the world in 1.10pre1. It begins to load and either freezes (typically with the 'Can't keep up!' or crashes (sample crash reports attached).
Launch the world in 1.9.4 it works fine.

I haven't been able to isolate a cause. When I saw others with similar behavior thought I would pass along
