Going Out of control?

When I rapidly place blocks by pressing a combination of W, left-click and right-click, often I start automatically moving. What I mean by this is that even when I'm not pressing anything, I still continue to move. Pressing any of the WASD keys doesn't solve it. I have to press Esc and then return to game.
