Minecraft FPS is extremely low, 1-10 fps

Minecraft 1.10 is extremely slow in fps, ranging from 1-10 with sometimes up to 25fps for a few seconds. It is slow in singleplayer, multiplayer and the start menu, it also takes a little longer on the spash screen as well. When I first ran Minecraft 1.10 it worked fine. But now it is very slow.
