End Ship generated Cut in half and without End City nearby

(this bug is in version 1.9, but i cant set the version to 1.9)
while exploring the end, i saw something floating in the air, i wondered what it is and switched to creative, then i saw this.

its an endship cut in half, and there was no end city nearby, i think the chunk borders cut the ship in half and prevented the city from spawning.
however, the elytra, 2 chests and a shulker was still inside.
