Change Gamemodes wont allow interaction afterward

Change gamemode from survival to creative and back again, I cant interact anymore. Like spectator mode but without clipping. cant open doors or place a block.

What I expected to happen was...:
Should have went back to survival mode.

What actually happened was...:
A cross of spectator and survival mode. You can be killed, but cant interact any way.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start in survival mode
2. open dialog box...change gamemode to creative
3. go back to survival mode...then I built a craft table...then locked out. unable to interact.
