Textures are not working

Minecraft textures are broken. If I am lucky a block of the screen renders correctly.

A history of how I got here:

Minecraft had been working fine over the past few days (Just started playing again) and this evening started crashing. Looking at the logs of those crashes I found this thread MC-32606. Following that thread I enabled 2Gigs of RAM for the JVM. As well VSync and VBOs were already on. No when logging in the game doesn't crash but the textures do not render.

As I was writting this bug a java update was released. Updating Java to 8.91 released today on 4/19/2016 fixed the issue
