Minecraft Server Nether portal problem

On the recent updated server a player enters the nether portal from the over world or vise versa as soon as they enter the portal it loads properly however now players that move forward get pulled back in the portal 3 to 4 times or crashes the server. I don't know if its a bug with the version or something I need to fix on our end can you help.
