Dogs, cats and parrots teleport to player despite being in a boat (yet not visually)

The mob takes damage if you are close to lava or cactus and you can hear its hurt sounds like it's very close to you

My dogs seem to teleport to me, eventhough they are in a boat.
The thing is that its not visible, I dont see them move out of the boat, but I hear them get hurt.
