lighting

Hello,

I have been playing minecraft lately and when placing torches, glowstone or any light emitting block, the lighting isn't 'smooth'. It will be bright for a few blocks and suddenly pitch black. I can make the lighting normal again by interacting with the environment in the dark sections. It may be a problem with the chunk updating. Other people I know are also experiencing this and I'm sure a lot of people have reported it.
