Cant pick up or see items when person dies

So for about 5 months, my friend and I have done a hardcore server together, and just recently (maybe a week or so), whenever we die on occasion, say in a cave or out in the open in our base, the items we dropped when we die aren't there anymore and you can't see them. Although this does happen after a certain period of time, once we go back to our items, say after a minute or so, everything just disappears! Honestly, we have no idea why and it could be a weird glitch we have for our bedrock server I host with my friend. It may also be a weird wall glitch but we're not sure, and I find it frustrating, especially when we have, or I guess as of right now, had good items.

Is this just a weird glitch for MCPE Bedrock players or no? Again, we know that after a certain time, 5 minutes, everything despawns, but for us, maybe after 30 sec-1 min, everything just clears away and glitches somewhere else, never to be seen again, and it's pretty frustrating for us :'(
