Loss of content

When Mojang moved the server to a Microsoft server, "the new Minecraft" I lost every texture pack and character pack I had purchased. It wants me to repurchase everything with "points". I have refrained from playing "The new Minecraft" and stuck with the older version where all of my content exists. However, Minecraft has updated many things and I would like to take part in the new content as well as use my old content that I've spent money on.
