Why is there a different version of Minecraft for console than PC. It makes no sense and has no advantages. Just bring the Java version of Minecraft back to console.

There isn't a different version. Consoles now run the same version of Minecraft that Windows 10, Switch, iOS and Android run (as well as Xbox One and PS4). It used to run something similar to Java but was behind in updates and developed by a third party company (who did a great job).
Unfortunately though this isn't a bug and I have to close this report. Feel free to head over to https://feedback.minecraft.net and mention what parts of the existing experience you think are missing. The Console Edition likely isn't coming back but there's always the possibility that the things you think were missing could be brought over.
