IPv6 is broken
I run my own Bedrock server on my own Server. After Upgrading Minecraft to the 1.14.6005.0 i can't connect to my server anymore.
I also did't see my server online at the IPv6 Port (19133).
i change the Port ingame to the IPv4 port (19132) i see the online Server but can't connect.
so i disable IPv6 at the Network interface in my Windows Computer and can connect to my minecraft server.
Edit://
i also tested the Server ports with netcat from a different machine. I can connect to both. (ipv4 and ipv6)
Funfact: I can connect with netcat via IPv4 to the IPv6 Port but not via IPv6 to the IPv4 Port.
Edit2//
sorry i think you missunderstood me.
i can't connect with IPv6 to the IPv6 listen Port. whitch is 19133 in my description. (Error discription: unable connect to World)
for testing i disable the IPv6 on my gaming machine and can connect with IPv4 to the IPv4 Port.
also i test the IPv6 connection to the server with netcat. so i connect with netcat to the IPv6 and IPv4 Port. both worked but just with netcat (thats a CLI tool for Linux to test Ports) in order to rule out any possibility of error on my part.
With Minecraft i still can't connect with IPv6 to IPv6!

Hi Steffen,
Its not currently clear from your description what your issue is?
You mention not being able to connect to the IPv4 listener using IPv6 which is expected. The rest is somewhat confusing.
Could you please update your description with the information mentioned in http://help.mojang.com/customer/portal/articles/801354-writing-helpful-bug-reports-for-minecraft to help get your bug tested and confirmed.
I'll set the report to "Awaiting Response", once you've updated it just comment back and it will reopen.

Have you checked that you have IPv6 firewall rules in place?
Are you using DNS or IP address to connect to the server? If IP address how are you entering the address into Minecraft?
Are you running on Windows or Linux?
Are you running in a dual stack environment?
i have at home dualstack and at my server (server is rented) have a working dualstack too. DNS resolving is working, i tested that with Netcat (otherwise i can't connect with Netcat IPv6 to the IPv6 Port on my server). Firewall is also disabled (otherwise i can't connect with Netcat to the IPv6 Port).
I run the Server with Linux Debian.
edit: i try to connect with a domain and with the IPv6 Adress. both failed. the IPv6 adress looks like: 2a03:4000:27:40f::1
Hello,
i did some more research today and i think the issue is the Client, not the Server.
what i'm doing:
I take the Ipv6 Adress and the IPv6 Port and forward him to an IPv4 Adress and the IPv4 Port. But i'm still not able to connect to the server.
This also coincides with the observation that the issue comes with the lates Hotfix update of the Minecraft Client on Windows 10
I am having the same problem. The port is open on a linux box on my LAN. I can not view it on my phone in IPv6. I think the problem is with the clients. I can not find a public server to even test it on.
I've just tried to reproduce this and have been unable. I've done the following and it connected as expected.
If you're still having the issue it may be a misconfiguration on your network. If you believe there to be a readily reproducible bug please provide steps on how to reproduce the issue.
I'm a little confused though by your comment that:
This wont work, unless you have a 6to4 translation service or similar you can't just forward IPv6 traffic to an IPv4 address.
I'll be putting this report into awaiting response status, it will reopen if you comment back with more information.

confirmed on Linux Ubuntu 23.10 if you disable ipv6 in grub or kernel, it breaks the server.
