Multiplayer on PS4

When friends join my world they can only join for two minutes then their character/themselves stays in one spot even know they are walking around on their  system/screen unable to open anything or place any items, even know their person isn't  moving and can't be moved on my system/screen. I've check both consoles and settings it's not the settings. The old edition lets us play together but the the new edition doesn't and we are both on PlayStation 4. This is a bug that needs looked at. My friend has to log out and back into the world just to play for two minutes every time this happens or we have to go onto the old edition to play together
