Can't Log Into Microsoft via ps4

The update to cross play has not worked once, my ps4 and minecraft are up to date however I still cannot cross play or even log into my microsoft account. I've tried clearing the log in data but it still will not let me even enter an e-mail or password. It simply says "Trying to Connect" and then "Failed" , i've even tried uninstalling and re-installing the game. I've added the Way of the Bee pack and still nothing. I would just like to cross play, please help.
