addons

I just started playing Minecraft today. And I don't really know a lot of it since is been a while since I've played it. I downloaded it did some bit playing and I tried to add addons and all that. Im playing on mobile, but everytime i add them they won't work and when I searched the problem up the only answer that came up was turn on experiment mode something and I tried doing that but THAT button won't work. So im really confused. Did I waste my money for nothing???
