Autosave is partially flawed

It's been broken for a very long time

For this famous Nether Portal duplication glitch, This has been there for quite a long time. Here is a custom log for reference (Timer for playtime):

[00:00:01] HOST: Entering the Nether Portal to the <To Dimension>
This line would be a bad idea to save Host Player's Data here, even before saving a dimension.
[00:00:05] HOST: Placed a shulker box
[00:00:06] HOST: Attempting to enter the <To Dimension>
[00:00:06] <From Dimension>: Data saved!
This line would be the best time to save Host player's data
[00:00:06] <To Dimension>: Rendering...
[00:00:09] <To Dimension>: Render Complete

[00:00:10] Connection error: HOST has exited without saving!
[00:00:09] Task Manager: Minecraft program has been closed by the user.

This means that <From Dimension> has a new save, but the host player to have an old save when the world is being rejoined by the host.

I honestly love logs. It's the best way to diagnose some errors.

Edited section while reopened from Awaiting Response:
I must admit that custom logging is a bad idea. It's just confusing and unnecessary. I was expecting someone to be a little more observant. I'm not great with communicating.

However, the easiest way I can explain why autosave is partially flawed is explaining this Nether Portal duplication glitch. It'll be relative to that log I said in this post, but more easy to understand.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Have a Nether Portal ready.
  2. Bring (a shulker box with items) or (items you want to duplicate and a chest) with you into the nether.
  3. Place this chest. Skip this step if you're doing Shulker Box.
  4. Save and Quit and then re-enter that world.
  5. If you do the chest method, put the items you want into the chest and exit the Nether. If Shulker Box instead, simply place it right as you leave the Nether.
  6. Simply... PC: Alt+F4 or Xbox One: Quit Minecraft from the guide. Re-enter Minecraft after.
  7. Re-enter that world.
  8. Compare (the items in that chest) or (the shulker box you placed) with your inventory to see if it's duplicated.

Observed Results:
Duplicated Successfully.
Example Player says "I used to have 27 stacks of Netherrite Blocks, now I have 54 stacks of Netherrite Blocks"

Expected Results:
Shouldn't duplicate as if Autosave reacted when a player transitioned into the Overworld
Example Player says "I have 1 Netherrite block, Why can't I duplicate it? Why can't this duplication glitch work!?"

Edit: Latest I can find is https://youtu.be/k8RLGWYO1H4 (Video was uploaded a month ago)

If you want me to say step by step my way, I'll explain the Nether Portal glitch.

  1. Have a Nether portal set up and enter it.
  2. Have a shulker box saved in your inventory (I usually do that) or have a chest ready with items you want to duplicate saved in your inventory.
  3. Save and Quit if those items wasn't saved in your inventory and the chest still ready for duping.
  4. A: Place a Shulker box as soon you enter the overworld or B: Put items in that chest and return to the overworld. (Imagine Netherrite being duplicated. I'm quite suprised that the Nether was saved, but the player data wasn't during dimension transition)
  5. PC: Alt+F4, Xbox One: Just quit the program from the Xbox One guide.
  6. Load back into your world.
  7. Check if your items being duplicated.

I'm just not great at explaining everything sometimes.
