Server crashing after player leaves
1.18.2 dedicated server, ubuntu 20.04.3
Player clients: 1.18.2
Issue: when player leaves server, server command line becomes unresponsive. Ctrl+C required to stop server, server no longer responds to commands. Unless server is restarted, players are no longer able to reconnect.
Expected behaviour: when players leave server, server continues to respond to commands in command line
Steps to reproduce:
- start server
- player joins server
- player leaves server
- try to rejoin server. This is stuck on locating server
- try to type a command in command line e.g. "list". No response from command line.

I have a similar issue except the entire OS freezes and I'm no longer able to SSH into the server. Same versions for client, OS, and server.

Were there any specific changes made to server.properties file? Have you tried remaking your server from fresh download after backing up world?

I have retried downloading the server software and using the default server.properties file it still gives me the same issue.

The issue occurs when more than one player joins and leaves the server. I have tried to get players to reinstall Minecraft but the issue persists

I have tried both pc and mobile(iOS) and they both cause this issue. I don't have any other platforms to test on unfortunately

Of course to play on server the latest Minecraft iOS app is needed. I am running ios 15.2 on the phones and I have tested the iphone 7 plus, 8 plus, 11 pro max, 11 pro and 12 pro max.
For the PC side I have tried both windows 10 and windows 11, both latest updates.

The server becomes unresponsive with no error messages whatsoever. It keeps outputting the AutoCompaction messages but doesn't respond to commands. No error messages appear at all
