BDS-13483Raw ores don't smelt
On a dedicated 1.17.0.03 bedrock server, Raw iron doesn't smelt in a furnace, as in previous snapshots.
Steps to reproduce: connect to a 1.17.0.03 dedicated bedrock server with bedrock minecraft. Put raw iron in a furnace and coal in the bottom, or other fuel items like a crafting table. It doesn't smelt.
If it helps, porkchops were cookable on this setup.

I too have this same issue on my bedrock server. Issue is not limited to just iron but I also noticed it with Copper too. The world I used on my server works fine with smelting if i export a local copy and play it locally on my machine. issue specific to the server side
After downloading the version again and speedrunning for a little, I was able to smelt copper. I think the issue has to do with moving 1.17 BDS files into the 1.16 server folder. In that case, it's not really a bug but a server management problem.
Same happened to me, i also can't craft the new raw iron/gold blocks
If it helps at all, in addition to the issues described above we’ve also noticed that new creatures are missing from 1.17 too
I can smelt none of the raw ores. I don't know if only these or all smelting is broken. I'll check.

We have the same issue on tow different servers, too.
Even, new generated worlds, create the same bug
Also the new Items are not available?!
And you can't craft them ..
The issue is valid/reproducible under Creative / Survival ..
It could be fixed by Server Re-Instalation.
1) Backup "permissions.json", "server.properties", "whitelist.json" .. "worlds" etc
2) Clean Re-Install Minecraft Bedrock Dedicated Server 1.17.x.xx
3) Re-Add "permissions.json", "server.properties", "whitelist.json" .. "worlds" etc
Done.
To my point of view → The Game / Server should report an error, if some of the server files don't have the right version or got mixed up!
I can assure that this issue does not affect everyone. Our server at 1.17.0.03 allows the smelting of raw iron.
@hamuelthebest this seems just to validate, that this issue is related to mixed up File Versions on the Server. And in your case, all files where fine, so your server runs fine.
It's detectable, so it would be great if the server would push this typ of information into the log.

I just started having this same problem on a new server on the Xbox series x and it won’t let me smelt iron or gold
This may be a result of the server owner not upgrading BDS properly (
BDS-6230).Resolving this as CR as we can no longer reproduce this bug.
If this is still an issue please remake the bug report and include detailed reproduction steps, as well as a video showcasing the bug.
