Can't Join Friend's Realm

I left the game in the nether on my friend's realm, and every time I try to get back into the game, I get stuck on "joining realm, building terrain". My friends say that technically it says I'm in the realm, but I can't play and my character isn't there. I have restarted my xbox, reset my internet, tried getting onto the realm on my PC, reinstalling minecraft, and just about everything I can think of. I've been locked out of the world for almost two weeks. Feedback would be appreciated.
